Reviews
Let me start off by saying the service was the best part of our visit. Ask for Connor she is amazing. We wwnt in for lunch. It's a really cute place, clean and friendly atmosphere. They were playing Country music in the background. We all ordered something different. The entire bill, which included 2 glasses of wine was about $49. My order was made wrong, but without even having to ask it was taken off the bill. I thought that was really nice. Cute place, worth another try. Maybe just for breakfast next time.
These guys are awesome. Stop in and grab your fav breakfast or grab it to go. True local spot that has history and if I'm not mistaken you can watch their tv show/remodel? from a few years ago
Outside of the downtown area but a quick drive and you're there with ample parking. This restaurant gets 5 stars simply because my husband said that the biscuits and pork based gravy omelette was the best omelette he'd ever had and went so far to say that it was, "life changing." LIttle bits of delicious biscuits in a folded egg and thick flavorful and perfectly seasoned gravy are things dreams are made of. We came here on a Thursday morning at 11:30 and we had no wait. We brought our dog so we sat outside. The outdoor dining is limited and covered by the eves, just before the parking lot starts. Thankfully, it was shaded. It's not the best ambience for outdoor dining but with a dog, we take what we can get. Service was friendly and somewhat efficient. They had no issues with accommodating our dog. I ordered the frog legs-out (no delivery) and chili-out (no delivery). I settled for chicken fried steak and eggs with hashbrowns. The chicken fried steak was good. The hashbrowns were dry dry dry and not something I'd order again. They bring all the breakfast accompaniments in a toolbox, for a bit of fun charm. Our entrees along with a soda and unsweetened iced tea and generous tip was $42, which was a steal for how happy my husband was with the food.
On a trip to Murphy's, I stopped in to see if they had coffee to go. They did, and the waitress was extremely friendly. While I was waiting for her to bring our coffee's, I overheard the owner talking to a customer about how seriously they have taken Covid, since she lost someone very close to her to it. Hers is not my story to tell so I will leave it at that. But she specifically said she was fine abiding by COVID capacity rules and any other precautions and losing some money if it meant keeping her employees and customers safe. I paid for my coffee's and left thinking that I would come back later and happily support their business. We did come back for breakfast about an hour later. I love a good chicken fried steak for breakfast and I also love a good omelette. So the waitress pointed out that they had a chicken fried steak omelette and I was sold. She did not do me wrong, as it was probably one of the best omelettes I have ever had. My dining partner and BFF was really excited to order the blue cheeseburger, but very disappointed when the waitress said they didn't receive their meat delivery that morning. So my friend ordered the turkey melt and was blown away by how delicious it was. She raved about how fresh everything was like she would have believed them if they told her they had just butchered the pig for the bacon, and baked the bread that morning (which I actually think they did?). Seeing the deliciously thick and fresh bread on her turkey melt made me regret ordering a biscuit instead of toast but I was very happy with my biscuit just the same. They also sell sausage by the pound when they have it, and my friend bought a pound of breakfast sausage to take home. I haven't heard an update on that yet, but I'm sure it was amazing as well. If you're ever in Murphy's, I can't recommend hillbillies enough. What a great local restaurant to support during these tough times!
This place is quickly becoming a favorite for me. I found it by accident and keep coming back. The food is excellent and the service is top notch. Hillbillies has a great country feel, very clean and you're not waiting long for your food. I highly recommend trying this place out, you will not be disappointed!
